Some years ago I stumbled across a quote that has resonated with me ever since. Like many a good thought this took a while to take hold and solidify, let alone evolve into a philosophy. Unfortunately I've lost the specific source but in essence it read something like this, "The reason each of us goes to work each day is to make the world a better place for ourselves, our family or society in general."

Today this idea meshes on three distinct levels with the reasons that we do what we do here at Circle Learning. First, here at Circle like anywhere else, this is exactly what each of us does every day. We come to work in support of our personal 'better world' interests.

I believe the second way in which this idea meshes with our actions is also increasingly clear.Making things better is at the heart of the learning projects we design and build as well as the software we've created to deliver those learning solutions to the end user. We see this as our version of living the Pixar business model:

• We have a product we want to create.
• To do so requires software.
• The software we need to do this effectively does not exist.
• So we built the software that delivers the results we value.

Combining our talents in this way hopefully makes the world of online learning a better place for the learners who use our courses.

Finally, because we are in the learning business, we are fortunate to have a third level connection between this philosophy and our actions. We hear from our learning clients, and the learners themselves, that the knowledge they gain from using solutions we create empowers them to make the world a better place for themselves, their families and their social community.
